Royal Bank Of Scotland PPI Case Study

Mr and Mrs J
Mr and Mrs J had taken out a loan for £10,000 with RBS in 2005. A further £2500 had been added on top of the loan as Payment Protection Insurance. The loan had been settled in 2010, however, the couple did not have the loan documents.

Northern Ireland Claims was satisfied that the PPI policy had not been suitable to Mr and Mrs J as both had been employed at the time of the loan with sickness and absence cover provided by their employers. We were also satisfied that RBS had not followed Financial Services Authority regulations on selling the policy.

We obtained the loan agreement from RBS and a issued a complaint on behalf of Mr and Mrs J . Following negotiations, we recovered the full cost of the PPI policy, plus interest to the total sum of £3012 for Mr and Mrs J.
